Rivers United midfielder, Godwin Aguda said the squad is giving up on his dream of winning the double this season.

Rivers United advanced to the last 16 of the Aiteo Federation Cup after beating Sokoto United 2-1 in Lafia on Wednesday.

The Pride of Rivers are currently fifth on the NPFL table, but five points behind leaders Akwa United with seven games left to the end of the campaign.

In a chat with brila.net after yesterday’s win over Sokoto United, Aguda said their aim of winning a double is still very much alive.

“We are through to the next round of the Aiteo Cup. Top 5 in the NPFL. Major double still possible this season. We have to stay united and keep going ” he said.
