Victor Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda failed to confirm the release clause on his Client’s new contract with Napoli.
Napoli announced Osimhen had finally put pen to a new three-year contract at the club following an intense long negotiation.
Reports claimed the Partenopei agreed to pay the Nigerian €10m yearly and will only sell for €130m.
Calenda described Osimhen’s contract negotiation with Napoli as “a marathon”, but he too refuses to confirm the release clause.
“This was a marathon, a long process, but we reached the finish line,” agent Calenda told Sky Sport Italia.
“The renewal satisfies everyone, because we all wanted to continue this story that reached a peak last season with the Scudetto victory.
“I would not go too far into the details,” replied the agent. “Let us leave room for what happened, and that is the renewal which both the player and club wanted.
“Let us leave the details to the paperwork. We want to enjoy this renewal, which was wanted by both parties,” replied Calenda again.
“The player showed how much he cares about this club, while Napoli did everything possible to ensure this went through. We hope for other great results.”
