Nigeria U20 WNT head coach, Chris Danjuma says the team’s focus is on getting off to a good start at the African Games.
Nigeria will get its campaign underway in group B, with a tricky fixture against Morocco.
The Falconets, who are also defending champions on the continent; will battle their North African counterparts at the Cape Coast Stadium on Friday.
With their qualification for the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup already secured, the Falconets want to make a strong statement in the women’s football event at the African Games, Danjuma emphasized.
“Thank God we have qualified for the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia; we want a good justification by coming here and exciting ourselves and knowing that we are able to match every other team that has qualified for the World Cup,” Danjuma told a press conference.
Although he Acknowledged Morocco as a new force in African Women’s football, Danjuma stressed that Nigeria, is still the team to beat.
