Nigeria’s mixed 4x400m relay quartet clinched silver medal at the African Championships.
Team Nigeria, comprising Emmanuel Ojeli, Ella Onojuvwevwo, Dubem Nwachukwu, and Patience Okon-George, completed the race in 3:13.72.
South Africa took the gold with a time of 3:13.12, while Botswana secured the bronze in 3:15.93.
In the women’s hammer throw, Nigeria’s Sade Olatoye also won a silver medal with a best effort of 67.72m.
Additionally, Dubem Amene and Chidi Okezie have both qualified for the men’s 400m final.
Amene finished third with a time of 45.83s, closely followed by Okezie, who clocked in at 45.96s.
The race was won by Anthony Pesela of Botswana, who finished in 45.40s.
