African Champions D’Tigress of Nigeria on Monday returned from Dakar, Senegal after conquering the rest of Africa at the 2019 FIBA Afrobasket Championship.
According to the Nigeria Basketball Federation, the team including the technical crew landed at the Murtala International Airport, Lagos around 9:45 pm.
The Nigerian ladies defended the title they won in 2017 after defeating hosts Senegal inside the 15 thousand capacity filled to the brim Dakar Arena.
They are expected to visit the President of the federal republic of Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari in the next few weeks.
Nigeria’s Ezinne Kalu was voted Most valuable player at the end of the tournament
Their next assignment is the Tokyo 2020 Pre-African qualifying tournament.
