African Beach Soccer Qualifiers: Yahaya Confident Despite Preparation Hiccups

Abdullahi Yahaya, Team Manager of Nigerian Beach Soccer champions Kebbi Beach Soccer Club, has expressed confidence in the team’s ability to excel despite limited preparation time ahead of their African Beach Soccer qualifiers against Mauritania.

Yahaya highlighted the depth of quality players and talents within the beach soccer league that can represent Nigeria both continentally and globally.

In a statement reflecting his optimism, Yahaya remarked on the readiness and capability of the players.

He emphasized that Kebbi Beach Soccer Club has been heavily investing in resources and organizing local leagues, which have produced positive results and bolstered the team’s strength.

“We have all that it takes to represent Nigeria, not only at continental level, but at global level. Because we’ve been investing a lot of resources, I’m talking about Kebbi Beach Soccer as a project,” Yahaya stated.

“We’ve been organizing a local league which is yielding a positive result.”

While Yahaya acknowledged that the final decision lies with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), he expressed confidence in the players’ ability to perform at the AFCON and on the global stage.

“I can’t speak for the NFF. But I believe as a stakeholder in beach soccer, we’ve been consistent and confident that the players in Kaduna have all it takes to perform at the AFCON and global stage,” he added.
