Afelokhai narrates Covid-19 training ordeal for League players

Enyimba goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai has narrated his ordeal and that of other league players during the Covid-19 pandemic stressing that the fitness level of almost all players in league football in Nigeria will be barely up to scratch and that no one can claim to have a fitness level of above 60 percent training alone.

Afelokhai speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said part of the challenges of training alone is that no one will push beyond certain limits unlike when in group training when players are encouraged to want to outsmart each other drills and other training which endures fitness levels gets higher and better to play and that this will be the major challenge for teams when the league return.
“The truth is that you can’t compare your personal training and club training. There is a way you want to push in your club, you can’t push in your own personal training. Nobody will come out to claim having 60 percent fitness, anybody that says that is just deceiving himself. Like Enyimba all those while we train two times a day and can’t compare this one that you alone is doing.”
