AFCON Qualifiers: Iwobi Anticipates Tough Fight from Sierra Leone

Ahead of this weekend’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, Alex Iwobi says beating Sierra Leone won’t be an easy task, and has charged his Super Eagles teammates to give their best.

Iwobi and Victor Osimhen scored the goals as the Super Eagles won the reverse fixture, 2-1, in Abuja.

The return leg will hold in Monrovia this Sunday, with the teams needing positive results from the tie.

Speaking ahead of the game, the 27 year-old midfielder said all hands must be on desk to ensure Nigeria come out on top.

“We have a job to do, all we can do is give 100 per cent, you see the quality we have in the team but, Sierra Leone is not an easy team to play against.

“I’m sure if we give 100 per cent with the players we have, we will be able to get a good result.”

A draw however will be enough to ensure Nigeria qualifies for the tournament to be hosted by Ivory Coast.

Guinea-Bissau already picked one of the available tickets from Group A with their win over Sao Tome and Principe on Wednesday.
