Libya’s head coach, Nasser Al-Hadiri, has extended a late invitation to three players to strengthen his squad ahead of the AFCON Qualifying matches against Nigeria.
The players called up are Al-Tahadi defender Mohammed Khalil, Al-Nasr midfielder Abdullah Abdul Rahim, and Al-Akhdar winger Faraj Ghaidhan.
They will replace some squad members who withdrew from the encounters due to personal and fitness issues.
According to Libya News 24, Al-Hadiri has been tasked with securing a good result against Nigeria, who will be without two key players, Victor Osimhen and Olisa Ndah.
The team is expected to fly to Uyo in a private jet after completing their training camp in Tripoli.
As reported by Libya Al-Ahrar Channel, the Mediterranean Knights are set to depart from Tripoli, the capital, this Sunday, in preparation for Friday’s first-leg match at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Libya currently sits at the bottom of group D with one point from a possible six, while Nigeria tops the group with four points, following a win over Benin Republic and a draw against Rwanda in Kigali.
