Nigerian forward, Ademola Lookman has been nominated for the 2024 Men’s Ballon d’Or.
Lookman is also the sole African National team player among this year’s nominees.
The 26-year-old winger enjoyed an impressive 2023-24 season, capping it with a spot in the Africa Cup of Nations final.
He also reached the Coppa Italia final and had remarkable performance in the Europa League final, scoring a hat-trick that secured Atalanta’s first trophy in 61 years.
In addition to his club success, Lookman was instrumental in Nigeria’s run to a second-place finish at the AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire.
Over the course of the season, he netted 22 goals and provided 11 assists in 66 appearances across all competitions – for both club and country.
