Ademola Lookman aims for UCL with Atalanta

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman expressed his ambition to compete in the UEFA Champions League with Atalanta.

Atalanta are currently sixth in the Serie A standings, just two points behind AS Roma, who occupy the fifth spot in the race for Champions league football.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side still have a chance to secure a Champions League ticket by emerging victorious in the Europa League.

The team is currently in the semi-finals of the competition, offering a potential alternative route to European glory.

“We have to reach the Champions League,” said Lookman. “Yes, Roma are a strong team but so are we. We know that every match is difficult but we are ready to try to win them all.”

Later this month, they’ll face Juventus in the Italian Cup final later this month, and the Nigerian is eyeing success.

“We also have commitments in the Italian Cup and the Europa League, winning was important,” Lookman told DAZN as reported by Tuttoatalanta.

Winning the Italian Cup will mark Atalanta’s first triumph in the competition since the 1962/63 season and only the second trophy in the club’s history.
