Adegoke doesn’t want hostility to affect Rivers Utd game plan

Mutiu Adegoke wants Rivers United management to keep the players ready in every area as they prepare for the game against KCCA FC of Uganda.

Rivers United bounced back into contention for CAF Confederation Cup glory with a 1-0 victory over former title-holders FUS Rabat of Morocco on Wednesday.

Rivers United will be hoping to avoid defeat and snatch a victory when they face Kampala Capital City Authority (KCAA) FC of Uganda this weekend.

And Former member of the successful Enyimba team of the early century, Mutiu Adegoke, told Brila fm that though the team won FUS Rabat, they should not allow any form of hostility to affect their game plan against KCAA FC.

“I expect the Port Harcourt based side to have the required experience to overcome any form of hostility they face when playing away on the continent.

“The management of the club would have to take responsibility so as to keep the players ready mentally for the encounter, so the hostility does not play into the minds of the players as an excuse to fail,” Adegoke said.

No Nigerian team has won the CAF Confederation Cup in its present format and Rivers United is hoping they can break that jinx.

The Port Harcourt side and KCCA (Uganda) will face off in a Group A encounter of the CAF Confederation Cup at the Phillip Omondi stadium in Lugogo, Kampala on Saturday, 3rd June.

FUS remain top of Group A, but only on goal difference from Club Africain, Rivers and Kampala Capital City Authority of Uganda with each club having three points.
