Adebayor Urges Osimhen To Move To Premier League

Former Togo forward Emmanuel Adebayor believes Victor Osimhen has what it takes to be successful in the Premier League.

Adebayor’s former side Arsenal have been linked with Osimhen who recently claimed 2023 African footballer of the year award.

Manchester United and Chelsea are also said to be trailing the 25-year-old former Lille forward.

“He has the right attitude, mentality and determination to excel there (in England),” former Togo captain Adebayor told BBC Sport Africa.

“I’m praying for him to move to the Premier League and show what he’s capable of.”

Osimhen spearheaded Napoli’s record breaking title winning campaign last year with 33 goals across all competitions.

Despite being hampered by Injury, Osimhen has seven goals and 2 assists in 13 domestic league matches for the Partenopei.

“The Premier League is the toughest and best (league) in the world,” Adebayor said.

“Osimhen has shown and done it already in Italy, I think it is the right time for him to move to England and replace his idol Drogba and do beautiful things.

“He has all it takes to make a name and write a great chapter in England like Drogba.”

Osimhen recently penned a contract extension until 2026, but with a release clause of about €130m.
