Adams Olamilekan’s goal give Remo Stars advantage against ASFAR

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Remo Stars earned a good result in the first legs of their first-round qualifying fixtures in the CAF Confederations Cup on Sunday.

The Sky Blues drew 1-1 with Morroco’s AS FAR at the packed Stade Moulay Abdallah in Rabat on Sunday night.

The Moroccan club broke the deadlock in the 27th minute with a goal from forward Diney Borges.

Remo Stars goalkeeper Bankole Kayode then pulled up a series of saves to ensure the Gbenga Ogunbodede’s tutored side stayed within their hosts.

Remo Stars however responded with a goal of their own four minutes after the break when Adams Olamilekan headed home the equalizer off a corner.

It was a proud moment for the player and his teammates as they earned an incredible draw in what was the Club’s first-ever continental game.

The Sky Blues will aim to finish off the Morrocans when meeting in Nigeria for the deciding leg next week.
