AC Milan have commenced talks to sign Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze from Villarreal.
Milan, according to Sky Sports, finally held a meeting with Chukwueze’s agent and discussed possible move to Italian Serie A this summer.
Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio stated that there was a meeting on Wednesday between his agents and Milan talent scout Geoffrey Moncada.
The 24-year-old Nigeria international is one of the Rossoneri’s targets this summer as they look to strengthen the team ahead of next season.
Milan want to bring in the player to ease the attacking burden on Rafael Leao who plays on the right side of a trident attack.
Chukwueze’s contract with Villarreal runs to June 2024, and he’s valued at €40m, but a sale this summer will be difficult as Real Madrid is also interested.
The Nigerian scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in 50 competitive appearances for Villarreal in just concluded season.
