AC Milan have confirmed the signing of one of the best central defenders in world after completing the signing of Leonardo Bonucci in a statement on the club’s website.

On Thursday, AC Milan announced they’ve signed Bonucci, 30, from Juventus on a five-year contract through to 30 June 2022.

In statement on the website, Milan Manager, Vincenzo Montella said, “He is a player with international experience. Technically, I think that he and Sergio Ramos are the strongest central defenders in the world. Coaching him is a dream come true”.

“A really important signing, a clear sign that the Rossoneri mean business. After signing Musacchio, Rodriguez, Conti, the former Juventus centre-back is the piece that completes the puzzle of AC Milan’s defence.

“The club has made the dream of having Leo wearing in the Red and Black come true, with the fans’ enthusiasm growing after every new signing.

“Bonucci is considered to be a leader on the pitch and inside the dressing room, a world-class player with eye-catching technique, the player who can start the move, with great character and at the peak of his career.

“From highly respected opponent to a Red and Black pillar: welcome, Leo, now San Siro is your home!” the statement concludes.

On 14 July 2017, news broke of Bonucci signed by Rossoneri for a €42 million fee.
