AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli has challenged new signing Samuel Chukwueze to adapt and improve his quickly.
Pioli sanctioned €28m move for Chukwueze from Villarreal this summer and he’s yet to contribute a goal or assist.
The winger has made four substitute appearances in the league and was replaced after an hour in his start for the club against Newcastle United on Wednesday.
Following the unimpressive performance in the Champions League, Chukwueze was left on the bench for the home win over Verona.
In a chat with the media, Pioli expressed confidence the Nigerian will come good for the club, but must improve his game quickly.
“I want Samu to be very open; he is used to cutting inside the pitch,” Pioli said.
“He also needs to find the timing and movements, but he did well. I’m satisfied with his performance, and he will grow.
“The idea in Newcastle’s first half was to target a full-back with another pass. In the first half, we didn’t make much use of him, and then I put Pulisic on. But we’re satisfied with his (Chukwueze’s) performance,” He said.
