Napoli set to offer Osimhen new €6.5m annual contract

Serie A leaders Napoli are reportedly working on a new deal for star striker Victor Osimhen.

According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Napoli are not ready to cash in on the 23-year-old and will move to tie him to a longer deal, with a pay rise.

Osimhen joined Napoli in n 2020, and has three years left on the €4.5m deal he signed with the club and he could earn around €6.5m with the renewal plans.

The Nigerian forward’s future at Partenopei has been a subject of speculation following his decent form since the start of the 2022/23 season , with Manchester United and Real Madrid among the clubs interested in his services.

La Gazzetta Dello Sport, however claimed Napoli could raise Osimhen’s salary in order to ward off interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid.

“In the Napoli renewal plan, there is also the extension of Victor Osimhen ‘s contract. Grown more than ever this year, interest has already rained down on him, from the Premier League and beyond. The Nigerian still has a long contract, expiring in June 2025, but Napoli could continue.

“Currently the forward earns 4.5m euro net plus bonuses, a figure that is still sustainable even in the new Napoli project – which provides for salaries that do not go beyond 3.5m net, i.e. almost seven gross – for a technicality.” La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

Meanwhile Osimhen and his camp are solely focusing on Napoli this season, but will discuss his future at the end of the season.

The former Lille and Wolfsburg striker has scored 11 goals in 14 games in all competition for Napoli this season.
