Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes’ first-half double inspired Portugal to a four-nil victory over the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a friendly game ahead of the World Cup.
Portugal had a 1-0 lead early in the first half courtesy of Bruno Fernandes. He scored the second from the spot after a handball in the box to score his second.
The Portuguese side scored another 2 goals in 2 minutes in the dying minutes of the game after substitute Dennis Emmanuel missed a chance to net a consolation goal for the Super Eagles from the spot.
Portugal will head to the FIFA World Cup this weekend with their first fixture being next Thursday against Ghana at 4 pm (BST).
They then have their biggest test of the group as they face the likes of Luis Suarez and Darwin Nunez as they take on Uruguay on Monday 28 November.
