The Sports Ministry admits Jose Peseiro is yet to receive a salary since taking charge of the Super Eagles.
According to reports, Peseiro has only received allowances and bonuses but is yet to be paid his salaries and he’s running out of patience with the Nigerian authority.
The Sports Ministry is responsible for the payment of Peseiro’s salary, according to the agreed signed.
The Ministry however faulted the delay in processes for receiving funds from the federal government.
A special adviser to sports minister Sunday Dare, Mr. Toyin Ibitoye says everything is under control and the Portuguese will receive his payment sooner.
“The issue of Peseiro’s payment will be resolved soon with the understanding of the federation and the coach,” Toyin Ibitoye told the BBC.
“Everything is being worked on and we are quite confident that very soon it will be sorted.” He said.
Peseiro was appointed six months ago, as the permanent successor to sacked Gernot Rohr.
The former Venezuela boss will lead the Super Eagles out against Costa Rica next week.
