Bankole Olowookere says he’s satisfied with the performance of his girls, despite missing the opportunity to reach the final of the 2022 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
Nigeria lost to Colombia in the semi-final match played at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Wednesday.
Flamingos and their Colombian counterparts were square after regulation, but the South Americans held their nerves to win 6-5 on penalties.
Reacting to the outcome, Olowookere said he has nothing but respect for his players.
“They have done well, they gave their best. It is a semi-final match so I understand, our opponents played well, we tried as well.
“We gave our best and I’m pleased with the girls,” He said.
