French Ligue 1 side FC Nantes are ready to tie Super Eagles winger Moses Simon to a new long term contract.
Simon has been impressive since moving to the French side from Spanish La Liga club Levante two years ago.
The striker’s consistent form attracted OGC Nice and Premier League side Leeds United, but Nantes manager Antoine Kombouaré fought hard to keep the Nigeria.
The club have now contacted the winger’s representatives over a contract extension, according to Tribune Nantaise.
Discussions are still in the early stages, but Tribune Nantaise reports that the club are optimistic about their chances of extending the player’s stay.
Simon was voted Nantes player of the year in his first season and he played a huge role as they won the French Cup, last season.
The 27 year-old Nigeria International has scored 24 goals and made 23 assists in all competitions for Nantes.
