Defender Valentine Ozornwafor has been handed an invitation for the upcoming friendly clash against the Desert Foxes of Algeria.
The center-half is enjoying an impressive run of matches with French Ligue 2 club Sochaux and was rewarded for a place in the squad by Portuguese manager Jose Peseiro.
In addition, Ozornwafor is also becoming a strong candidate for the Peseiro, following the withdrawal of the duo of Semi Ajayi and Kenneth Omeruo who will miss the game, due to injury.
Meanwhile, the Sochaux on Wednesday via their website confirmed his invitation for the tie.
“Valentine Ozornwafor has been called up to Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming international break,” reads a statement on the club’s official website.
The Super Eagles will play a friendly match against Algeria on September 27 in Oran.
Ozornwafor, a former Enyimba player joined Sochaux on a season-long loan deal from Turkish Super Lig club, Galatasaray this summer.
