Belgian Jupiler league giants Genk are edging closer to concluding a deal to sign Nigerian forward Victor Beniangba.
The Limburgers are still in the market for an attacker to replace Cyriel Dessers, and Beniangba have been penciled down.
An agreement has been reached with Victor Beniangba and his entourage, but the transfer was delayed due to complaints from La Liga side Celta Vigo, who claimed they had the player under contract.
Celta Vigo claimed Beniangba agreed to join them and put hand to paper, before he accepted Genk’s proposal.
The issues have now been resolved and the 19-year-old striker will sign for the Wouter Vrancken’s side.
The confirmation of the transfer will announced later today, but his papers were only submitted in the nick of time.
He started his education at the Young Boys Football Academy and spent last season on loan at Egyptian FC Cleopatra.
