Gianfranco Zola hopes Victor Osimhen can be involved when Napoli takes on Liverpool in their Champions League opener against Liverpool this Wednesday.
Osimhen, Napoli’s talisman is a major doubt for the clash between the Partenopei and their English counterparts.
The striker sustained an injury during the weekend’s clash with Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico and has been training alone.
Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti, in the news conference, said the player will have a late fitness test, to see if he can take part in the game.
Zola, however, believes Osimhen’s presence is a huge advantage for the Italians, adding that the club usually struggles to cope with his absence.
“I am confident. Napoli have good technical values. We hope there is [Victor] Osimhen – his absences due to injury weighed on last season. And then there is that boy, the Georgian Kvaratskhelia. Napoli can enhance this group.” He said.
The striker has scored two goals and assisted two in five matches for Napoli this season.
