Forward Ademola Lookman says Atalanta deserved their Serie A victory over Monza on Monday.

Lookman was in action as Atalanta beat the league’s newcomers, 2-0, to go top of the table, two points clear of Napoli and Milan.

The Nigerian created the first goal scored by Rasmus Højlund and had a goal taking away from him after a review by the VAR and was recorded as an own goal later in the game.

Speaking after the game, Lookman said Atalanta deserved to win, despite an uninspiring first half display.

Lookman, who signed for Atalanta this summer added that he’s enjoying himself in Italy.

“I think we created a lot more chances in the second half, and we played a lot better, and yeah we won the game.

“Yeah I’m enjoying it. It is a tough tough tough football, but you know I’m adapting and adapting every single day and working harder to be better,” He said after the game.
