World Athletics Championships: AFN Technical Director insists Points as good as Medals

Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) Technical Director, Samuel Onikeku believes Team Nigeria have been impressive so far at the ongoing World Athletics Championship, despite not winning any medal yet.

The AFN Director described the performances of the Athletes as encouraging and expressed optimism that the Contingent will eventually end up on the podium.

 

 

With three days before the end of the Championships, Team Nigeria is yet to register a medal and the contingent suffered a massive no show on Day Five.

In a chat with Brila.net Onikeku stressed that competing at the Championships isn’t just about winning medals, but scoring points for better rankings for Participating Nations.

He identified the several semi-final berths achieved in Oregon as impressive and important progress made.
