Rangers CB Connor Goldson insists Calvin Bassey is a player for the future, who can reach the very top of club football.
Bassey was Rangers’ breakout star last season and his performance caught the eyes of several top clubs across Europe including four-time Champions League winners, Ajax.
Goldson however had only high praise for the 22-year-old Nigerian and insists the Versatile defender can go all the way to the very top of his game.
“He has got everything. I probably shouldn’t say it but he can go wherever he wants to go. Whenever that is, he’ll end up having an unbelievable career.
“He’s got attributes that you simply cannot train. Speed, strength, his left foot is amazing. He’s literally got the lot.
“I was so happy for him given the season he had before when he got into a bit of trouble because of Covid.
“He came back, worked his socks off in pre-season and I remember him saying to me that he wanted to start playing games regularly.
“Last summer he went away with a trainer and worked his socks off. He got his rewards in the end.” He said.
Godson and Bassey helped the Gers to Scottish Cup glory last season, after narrowly missing out of Europa League title to Frankfurt.
