Midfielder Halimatu Ayinde enjoyed her partnership with Ngozi Okobi in the heart of Super Falcons midfield.
The pair played a significant role in Super Falcon’s 2-0 victory over Mares of Botswana on Thursday.
Okobi combined with Ayinde provided the assist for the first goal scored by Ifeoma Onumonu in the 21st minute before Ordega set up the winner for Christy Ucheibe a few minutes into the second half.
“Great performance from the team, what a combo that was Ngozi Okobi,” says an elated Ayinde posted on Saturday.
The duo is expected to keep their place in the starting 11 when Super Falcons face Burundi in their last Group C on Sunday.
