Middle East Crisis Casts Uncertainty over Super Eagles’ Participation in Four-Nation TourneyMarch 3, 2026
Share Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Pinterest Email Jose Peseiro expects Super Eagles to cope with the threat of Sao Tome and Principe, despite the absence of William Troost-Ekong. Peseiro’s side will go into the game without Ekong, who sustained a groin injury during the qualifying game against Sierra Leone. “Troost-Ekong is not here, but I have other players, I have other centre-backs,” Peseiro told a press conference on Sunday “Of course we want to improve our defensive process. We should be able to play a good centre-back,” He said. Since taking charge as Nigeria’s head Coach, Peseiro’s men are without a clean sheet in three games, conceding five goals in the process. The Portuguese will be hoping for an improvement when they face the Sao Tome later today.
