Feyenoord are working on a deal to sign Cyriel Dessers from Genk, but they are yet to reach an agreement with the striker.
Feyenoord has until June 1 to exercise the right to sign the player in a permanent deal and if not, he’ll return to Racing Genk.
For a long time, Feyenoord has been discussing with Genk, and seems they are about to find a solution to the four million euro transfer fee.
However, Dutch media outlets, RTV Rijnmond and De Telegraaf reported that the deal could be off, following fresh demand from the player himself.
After the strong campaign, that saw him score 21 goals in 42 appearances, the striker wants a substantial salary increase, which is not feasible for Feyenoord.
Dessers want to continue his career with Feyenoord, but is not short of offers from other clubs and the possibility of returning to Genk is also on the card.
