Super Eagles Head Coach Jose Peseiro is happy with the response of the players in his first-ever training session after resuming the new role.

Peseiro led the Super Eagles in training for the first time this morning in the United States since his appointment.

Nineteen players of the 30 players invited for clashes with Mexico and Ecuador trained under the Portuguese.

Speaking after the training session, Peseiro said, he was happy with how the players performed.

The former Venezuela said the team have set its sight on winning the next African Cup of Nations in 2023 and it’s important they are starting preparations earlier.

“I’m happy to start practice with the National team. I’m happy to see them because they are tired after a long trip.”

“They trained with enthusiasm and motivation. They trained with happiness and it shows with the will and they know we want to win the next Afcon.”

“Although it is in 2023, we must start the work now and improve our speed. The guys were fantastic ” He said.
