Arsenal are making effort to sign striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli this summer.
Arteta is keen to add a striker to his squad following the departure of former captain Emerick Aubameyang to Barcelona.
Osimhen emerged as ideal target for the Gunners, following his impressive showing for Napoli. He has scored 16 goals and registered five assists in the ongoing campaign for the Partenopei.
Arteta is also said to be fan of the Nigerian energetic and aggressive style of football and believes, which is lacking in his team.
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Gunners have ‘set their sights’ on the Nigerian and are currently leading the chase for his signature.
It was reported that Arsenal is ready to break their transfer record (the £72m they paid to sign Nicolas Pepe in 2019) for the Nigerian and will offer Napoli €105m.
Premier League sides Manchester United and Newcastle United already see bid for Osimhen turned down by Napoli, but reports suggests that Arsenal is confident they can match the valuation for the player.
