Rivers United continued their impressive campaign in the Nigeria Professional Football League with another away success on Wednesday.
The League Leaders recorded pipped hosts Katsina United 1-0 at the Mohammed Dikko Stadium in Katsina State, to go four points clear at the summit.
Joseph Onoja grabbed the only goal seven minutes in added time as Stanley Eguma’s team extended their lead over Plateau United to four points.
Rivers United have now scored a 90+th minute goal for the first time this season. It is also their first away from home since Chikere Osita scored a 94th-minute winner against Kwara Utd in Ilorin (Feb 2018).
The Pride of Rivers have now kept five clean sheets away from home this season in the NPFL; joint best with Akwa United and Rangers Int’l FC.
With the result, they remain on top with 49 points, four points ahead of the second-placed Plateau.
