NFF president Amaju Pinnick says he’s not running for a third term despite his eligibility to run for the much-coveted office.
In an interview with Arise Television, Pinnick disclosed his family has told him not to run, and based on that ground he will bid farewell after the expiration of his second term in office.
“First am I eligible to run? Yes, I’m eligible to run based on our statutes. Do I want to run at this moment, it’s a no-no because my family says so at the moment. My family is very key to me, they say that I have put in my all, put in my best. They say it’s taking a toll on me, taking a toll on the family. It’s a very regrettable decision” he concluded.
Pinnick was first elected in September 2014. On 20 September 2018, and was re-elected as the NFF President. He was also the First Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) between September 2018 and July 2019, and a member of the Organising Committee for FIFA competitions.
