Alex Iwobi featured for Everton in their defeat to West Ham United in Sunday’s Premier League Clash at the London Stadium.
The Nigerian midfielder was impressive, but his impressive performance was dented by a mistake that led to the Toffees conceding a goal in the second half.
Aaron Cresswell had given the home side the lead with a brilliant free-kick (32′) before Mason Holgate equalised for Everton eight minutes after half time.
The Hammers were back in front few minutes later. Iwobi allowed a pass to slip away from him and Jarrod Bowen punished the midfielder with the second for West Ham.
The goal proved crucial as West Ham defended their lead and walked away with the maximum points.
The result means Frank Lampard’s side remain perilously close to the relegation zone – three points above 18th-placed Watford with two games in hand but only four points above Burnley, with the two sides facing each other next on Wednesday.
