The Super Eagles played a goalless draw with Black Stars of Ghana in the first leg of the FIFA World Cup qualification playoff on Friday.
The Super were the favorites before the kick off, but the three time African Champions failed to live up to their tag at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Austin Eguavoen’s side needed two big saves from Francis Uzoho who replaced Maduka Okoye to keep the scoreline blank in the first half .
The Super Eagles also saw a second half penalty awarded overturned by the referee after he conclsulted the video assistant referee.
The draw in Kumasi means both side have everything to play for when they meet at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja for the return leg.
The Super Eagles needed an outright victory to qualify, while a score draw will do it for the Black Stars of Ghana.
