The technical adviser of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Austin Cerezo Eguavoen has confirmed his players won’t undergo rigorous physical training ahead of the FIFA World qualification ties with Ghana.
Eguavoen made this disclosure to journalists after Tuesday’s training session in Abuja.
The former Super Eagles defender hinted that, his team will do more tactical work than physical training before the game.
The 2006 Afcon bronze medal winner stated that he’s satisfied with their physical fitness.
“I am very satisfied, you can see that the boys are ready to go. The good thing is that they are in season, they are in form and their confidence is very high.
“Hopefully, we’ll have two more training sessions before the game, anything more than that will be suicidal. It is more of tactical talks than physicality now. We are ready to go,” Eguavoen concluded.
The Super Eagles are scheduled face the Black Stars for the Qatar 2022 World Cup Playoff in Kumasi on Friday. The reverse fixture will be played at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja on Tuesday, March 29 2022.
The winner over the two legs will pick one of the five tickets allocated to Africa, to Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
