Former Enyimba goalkeeper Fatawu Dauda has backed Jojo Wollacot to shine against Nigeria in the World Cup playoff .
Wollacot was in goal when the Black Stars failed miserably at the last African Cup of Nations in Cameroon, but Fatawu Dauda believes the young shot-stoper remain the best at the moment.
Ghanaians have called on the coaching crew to make changes from the team that featured at the Afcon , including the goalkeeping department.
Speaking to the Ghanaian media, Dauda who spent three seasons with Nigeria’s most successful team Enyimba of Aba insisted that Jojo Wollacot and other goalkeepers are good enough to shut out the Super Eagles striker .
The 36-year-old however blamed the defenders for the Black Stars woes in Cameroon.
“When it comes to the goalkeeping department. It is very important and crucial. When we went to the AFCON things didn’t go but from a technical point of view, I will never blame the goalkeeper Jojo Wollacot for the goals he conceded at the AFCON”, Fatau Dauda told Happy FM.
“Maybe there is a problem with his communication with his defenders. In fact that department we don’t do a lot of changes, so let’s maintain them. Unless Richard Ofori is still fit”.
Meanwhile ,Black Stars interim coach Otto Addo is expected to name his squad for the game in the coming days.
