Super Eagles of Nigeria star Anthony Nwakaeme was the hero as he scored the winner for Trabzonspor against Kayserispor FC in week 27 of the Turkish Super Lig on Friday.
The Nigerian international has been exceptional for Trabzonspor this season — scoring crucial goals for the Club.
Nwakaeme was given another starting role by coach Abdullah Avci and he picked a perfect moment to prove that he remains the main man for the club this season.
Trabzonspor went into half time break trailing 2-0, after Mario Gavranovic and Mame Thiam scored for the visitors in the 25th minute and 45th minute respectively.
Bosnia and Herzegovina star Edin Visca pulled one back for the hosts in the 49th minute, before Nwakaeme assisted Djaniny Tvaris to level the scoreline in the 59th minute.
Nwakaeme sealed the remarkable comeback for Trabzonspor as he grabbed the winning goal in the 90th minute to end the match 3-2.
The goal and assist increased his tally for the season to nine (9) goals and nine (9) assists in 21 appearances for Trabzonspor.
He has also scored or assisted a goal in each of his last three matches in the Super Lig.
The victory over Kayserispor FC has now taken Trabzonspor to the top spot of the Turkish Super Lig table with 66 points from 27 matches.
