Nigerian Striker, Henry Onyekuru is not expected to leave Belgium this summer according to reports.
The 20-year-old has been the subject of several transfer speculations, including a well publicized interest from English Premier League side, Arsenal.
However, while all the buzz has suddenly cooled, the Aspire Academy product will play the 2017/18 season in the Jupiler League but not for KAS Eupen.
As per Phil McNulty, the Chief football writer for BBC Sport, the Nigerian had a medical with another EPL side, Everton on Monday but is expected to be loaned to Belgian giants, Anderlecht with a £7m deal believed to have been agreed.
He is regarded by Everton director of football Steve Walsh and manager Ronald Koeman as one for the future per Phil McNulty.
Onyekuru’s romance with a direct move to England had hit a snag because he couldn’t secure a work permit.
But his instagram post on Tuesday suggests the player could be on the verge of achieving his target.
Onyekuru posed in a picture in front of the Everton club badge and posted “#thankful 🙏🏾🙏🏾🤙🏾”.
He scored 22 goals for the Belgian top-flight club KAS Eupen, last season and has been linked with Arsenal, West Ham United and clubs throughout Europe.
