Abdullahi Maikaba is satisfied with Rangers scintillating performance in the second half against Niger Tornadoes.
The Antelopes blew Niger Tornadoes away as they scored four second half goals in the NPFL match day contest in Nnewi on Sunday.
Kenechukwu Agu scored the opener on 58 minutes, before grabbing his second on 70 minutes with a fine free-kick.
Shedrack Asiegbu then made it 3-0 on 73 minutes when he latched onto a free ball from almost thirty yards just as a substitute, Christian Nnaji reacted the fastest to tap in a Tope Olusesi inch-perfect cross on 90 minutes to hand the big win.
It was Rangers biggest win since October 2016 when El-Kanemi Warriors conceded the same number of goals at ‘The Cathedral’, Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
Coach Abdul Maikaba said after the massive win :
“It was an exciting result. It was not just winning but winning well against a very good side. The goals difference we have in this game will to a very large extent count for us on the log. “
“Our opponent fought very well in the first half but I believe that my boys suffered some psychological challenges in that half but when we came back after the break, the difference was clear.”
With the win, Rangers jump to the 3rd position on the log after four match days with seven points and a +4 goals difference, scoring six and conceding two.
