Head Coach of Shooting Stars, Edith Agoye, says his team is still struggling to adapt to the NPFL, after another draw against Akwa United.
The Oluyole Warriors forced the champions to a 1-1 draw at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Sunday.
It was their second consecutive draw in the league, after opening day goalless draw at Gombe United.
Next for Shooting Stars is a trip to Makurdi, where they will take on Lobi Stars who themselves are also without a win so far.
Speaking to the media Agoye said their adaptation to the league won’t come quickly, but expects the team to pick a good result against Lobi Stars.
”Its not an easy game for us, Akwa United is very strong team, they are Nigeria champion, they’ve been together for over 5 years and for us to come out this evening and play against them, even though we are playing at home, it was a point gained.
“3SC have been away from the League for 4 years and we getting back into the NPFL though they expect us to do more than this we are aware that there is a lot to it and we are ready to do it.
“Our transition to the NPFL is not expected to be very quick, it will take good time but the good thing is that Sunday’s game is the second game and we can pick a point.
“We have to go for the three point and I’m very sure after we survived Akwa United today, there is no team in Nigeria that will do what they did against us, lessons we learned today will be taken to Lobi Stars’ match,” he said.
The match between Lobi Stars and Shooting Stars is slated for Wednesday at the Aper Aku Stadium.
