Watford midfielder Mousa Sissoko has defended William Troost-Ekong, following the constant criticism he’s getting from the media and fans.
Ekong came under heavy criticism after his error contributed to Watford’s 4-2 defeat to Leicester City on Saturday.
The former Udinese defender’s error allowed James Maddison to open the scoring for Leicester City at King Power Stadium.
In a chat with Club’s media Sissoko defended Ekong, and called on the Super Eagles defender to show character and move on from the blunder.

“I think we started well, but we conceded the first goal and we are disappointed because [William] Troost-Ekong thought someone told him to leave the ball to clear it.”
“It is part of football and now we need to move on, there is another game on Wednesday and we have to be ready,” the French international added.
Watford will host Chelsea on Wednesday and it is unclear if manager Claudio Ranieri will retain Ekong in the starting eleven.
