IAAF Diamond League: Tobi Amusan writes her name in history book

Tobi Amusan got her name in history book when she became the first Nigerian athlete to win a trophy at the IAAF league in Zurich.

The track sensation emerged winner of the 100 meters hurdles in the Zurich Diamond League, on Thursday.

Tobi broke the African Record of 12.42s to win gold in 100m women’s Hurdles at the ongoing Diamond League in Zurich.

Amusan crossed the finished lane ahead of Visser Nadine who ran a National Record and PB of 12.51secs to taks second spot.

Olympics bronze medalist Tapper Megan of Jamaica came third in 12.55secs.

The Ogun State born athlete has now become the 1st Nigerian athlete ever to win a Diamond League Trophy since the inception of the league in 2010

The victory is a perfect way to banish the ghost of her disappointing performance at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, where she narrowly missed out on a medal after finishing fourth in the 110m women’s final.
