Alanyaspor President Hasan Cavusoglu, said the club is delighted to sign Chidozie Awaziem from Boavista of Portugal.

Speaking at the player’s unveiling ceremony on Thursday, Cavusoglu said his club had difficulty in completing the deal, but they are delighted to it done.

The center back joined Alanyaspor in an undisclosed fees from Portuguese side Boavista on Wednesday and he has been handed number 15 jersey.

“He is a football player that we believe will contribute to our team. Transferring such players will not be easy,” Cavusoglu said to Alanyaspor’s official website.

“He was almost coming to Besiktas in the past days, but we were lucky. A very good team. We think we did it.”

He added: “Awaziem is now a part of Aytemiz Alanyaspor. We are together until the end of the season. I think we will have a good season”.

The deal marked Awaziem’s return to Turkish Football since 2019,when he played for Çaykur Rizespor.
