Eagles came from behind to beat hosts Cape Verde 2-1 on home turf

Nigerian Super Eagles have recorded their second victory in the ongoing 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign.

 

The Rohr led Eagles side defeated host Cape Verde 2-1 in an empty stadium.

 

Cape Verde started the game on the front foot and was rewarded with the lead early in the first half before the Eagles responded in the 28th minute courtesy of a rebound goal from Victor Osimhen.

 

The win today means Nigeria remain ontop of the Group with six points in two matches.

 

Meanwhile, skipper Ahmed Musa made his 100th Super Eagles appearance against Caoe Verde and he has now joined the duo of Former Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama and Assistant coach Joseph Yobo in the centurion class.
