Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, said the team will cope with absence of the UK based players, when the lock horns with Cape Verde on Tuesday.
The Eagles will take on Cape Verde at the Estadio Municipal Aderito Sena, Mindelo on Tuesday without influential players like Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, Leon Balogun, William Ekong, Oghenekaro Etebo and Joe Aribo.
The UK based are not permitted to travel to Cape Verde, due to the Covid-19 restrictions from the Premier League.
Speaking ahead of the game, Okoye who was in goal for the game against Liberia, said the team will miss the players, but he’s optimistic about their chances of winning.
“We will miss them (the absentee players), but we have a big team and the other players can do the same.
“We will prepare as a team very well, it will be a good match against a good opponent in Cape Verde,” Okoye said.
Okoye kept a clean sheet in the first game of the series, as Nigeria beat Liberia 2-0 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Friday.
