Everton manager Rafael Benitez says Alex Iwobi must improve on his game, but admits the Nigerian attacker is growing in confidence.
Iwobi has been heavily involved since the former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager arrived at the Club this summer.
Iwobi struggled for game time under former boss Carlo Ancelotti last season, but Benitez played him in all Everton’s four-game this season and the midfielder repaid his manager with a goal against Huddersfield Town on Wednesday.
In a chat with the Club’s official website, Benitez said the £31million signing from Arsenal, still has a lot in his tank and he’s gradually progressing.
“I know he has an incredible condition and work rate and his physicality is really good.
“He has to improve in the final third, he knows that.
“It is just to be sure he makes things simple, then he can score goals and give assists. He is doing well and growing in confidence.” He said.
Iwobi played a part in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex on Saturday.
