Sadiq Umar was among the goalscorers as Almeria demolished Cartegena 3-1 in the Spanish Segunda clash on Monday.
Umar was unplayable all through the game and he capped his good performance with a wonderful strike in the 19th minute.
Umar’s goal was assisted by Spanish midfielder Jose Carlos who was the chief creator for Almeria on the night.
Umar thought he has scored the second goal for his team when he beat the goalkeeper from acute angle, but the goal was disallowed, after VAR spotted an offside in the build up.
He scored 20 goals in the smartbank league last season as Almeria narrowly missed out in promotion to the top flight division.
Meanwhile, Largie Ramazani later made it 2-0 for Almeria in the 35th minute, before Antonio Luna reduced the deficit for the home side four minutes into the second half.
Largie Ramazani reestablished Almeria’s two goals lead in the 61st minute, which happens to the last game of the game.Â
